The Grande Troféu Vilamoura is one of Portugal’s premier amateur golf tournaments, held annually since 1987 on Vilamoura’s iconic golf courses: Millennium, Old Course, and Pinhal. Internationally recognised, this tournament has enjoyed consistent success over the years and offers keen amateur golfers an excellent opportunity to test their skills in a friendly yet competitive setting.

Competition:
• Medal format within each category – 54 holes. Prizes will be awarded on the final (net) and (gross) scores for the men’s and ladies competition within each category.
Participants:
• Tournament open to all amateur federated golfers, with a handicap certificate from his / her home golf club. Max handicaps “EGA”: Men – 24, Ladies – 28.
Ties:
• In the case of tied scores the result will be determined on a count back of the last 18, 9, 6, 3, best last hole and finally by a draw. The tie break for the overall net winner will result in a sudden death playoff.
Rules:
• The R&A Rules Limited, and local rules in score card.
• Preferred lies on fairways only, within the scorecard length, not nearer the hole.
• A ball embedded in its own pitch-mark in any part of the course, except sand or water hazards, can be lifted, cleaned and dropped without penalty, as near as possible to the point where the ball lay, but not nearer the hole.
• Stones in bunkers are considered loose impediments, may be removed without penalty.
• It´s allowed to use electronic devices and measuring distances.
• All areas under repair (GUR) are marked blue stakes and / or painted.
• Immovable obstructions; Young trees staked and / or up to 2 clubs high and its boiler, field beds, watering system components, marks made by course equipment, artificial walls and bridges can lift the ball under rule 16.1
• The penalty for breaching of any of the above rules result in the player DISQUALIFICATION.
• Omissions in the above Regulation will be decided definitively by the Technical Commission.
Technical and Referees Commission:
• Appointed by the Dom Pedro Golf.
Tees:
• Men’s – Yellow tees
• Ladies – Red tees
Prizes:
• General Net 1st, 2nd and 3rd places
• Net Winner, runner up and 3rd place of each category (Men and Ladies)
• General Gross 1st place
• Gross Winner on each category (Men and Ladies)
Please Note: The prizes are not cumulative, the highest result being net.
1. The starting handicap will be maintained for the 3 tournament days.
